The product is intended for broader availability to family historians and will be supported through product documentation, tutorials and ongoing development.
Product Distribution
AQ Enrichment Cockpit is being developed for distribution to family historians as a supported desktop software product. B and Me Creations plans to promote the product through its existing business website, genealogy and family-history organisations, user groups, demonstrations, tutorials, online genealogy communities and genealogy events.
Product documentation and educational material will support researchers in using evidence reconciliation and FamilySearch contribution workflows responsibly.
Product Vision
Our objective is to provide family historians with a practical bridge between discovery and contribution:
Discover evidence → compare sources → reconcile differences → review conclusions → document sources → contribute validated genealogical information.
By making evidence review an integral part of the workflow, AQ Enrichment Cockpit aims to help researchers make more accurate, better documented and more useful contributions to collaborative genealogy.
AQ Enrichment Cockpit
Genealogy Evidence Discovery, Reconciliation & Contribution Software
AQ Enrichment Cockpit is a desktop genealogy research application developed by B and Me Creations and currently undergoing active product development and expansion.. It is designed to help family historians discover, compare, reconcile and document genealogical evidence from multiple sources while maintaining researcher control over every proposed change.
Rather than simply copying information between genealogy services, AQ Enrichment Cockpit provides an evidence-based workflow in which information from a researcher’s existing family tree can be compared with information from FamilySearch and other genealogical and historical sources. Differences are presented to the researcher for review before information is accepted or contributed.
Evidence Discovery and Reconciliation
Genealogical research frequently involves information scattered across family trees, cemetery databases, historical newspapers, archives and other sources. Names, dates, places and relationships may differ between those sources.
AQ Enrichment Cockpit is being designed to bring that evidence together into a structured research environment.
The application can assist researchers with identifying and reviewing:
- People and possible identity matches
- Parent, spouse and child relationships
- Birth, christening, marriage, death and burial information
- Historical and modern place names
- Cemeteries and burial locations
- Source citations and supporting evidence
- Conflicting or incomplete genealogical information
The objective is not simply to collect more data, but to help researchers determine which information is supported by evidence.
FamilySearch Integration
FamilySearch integration is being developed as an important part of the AQ Enrichment Cockpit workflow.
Subject to FamilySearch API approval and applicable FamilySearch requirements, the application is intended to allow authorised users to compare their genealogical research with FamilySearch Family Tree information and identify useful additions or corrections.
Where appropriate, researchers will be able to review and contribute information such as:
New persons and individuals where supported by genealogical evidence.
Family relationships including parent-child and couple relationships.
Facts and life events including birth, marriage, death, burial and other genealogically significant events.
Sources and citations that provide evidence supporting Family Tree information.
The purpose of the integration is therefore two-way research and contribution, rather than providing a read-only mechanism for extracting FamilySearch data.
FamilySearch Integration Status
FamilySearch API integration is currently under development and is subject to FamilySearch API access, compatibility review and approval. AQ Enrichment Cockpit is not currently represented as a FamilySearch-approved product.
Researcher Review and Approval
AQ Enrichment Cockpit is designed around a human review and approval process.
Information discovered by the application is treated as proposed research evidence rather than automatically accepted genealogical fact.
Before a proposed contribution to FamilySearch is made, the researcher can review the existing information, proposed information, supporting source and differences between them.
This approach is intended to reduce erroneous changes and encourage well-supported contributions to the collaborative FamilySearch Family Tree.
Historical Place Intelligence
Place names present a particular challenge in genealogy because jurisdictions and names change over time.
AQ Enrichment Cockpit is being developed with a historical geographic model capable of distinguishing between a physical location and the name by which that location was known at a particular time.
For example, historical and modern locality names can be associated with the same geographic entity while retaining appropriate dates and source information.
Cemetery information can similarly combine modern geographic coordinates with historical, denominational and alternative cemetery names.
This allows genealogical events to be interpreted within their historical geographic context rather than simply replacing historical places with modern names.
External Evidence
AQ Enrichment Cockpit is designed as a multi-source research environment.
Depending upon availability, licensing, access conditions and individual provider requirements, the application may assist researchers in working with information from sources such as cemetery and memorial databases, historical newspapers, government and council information, geographic datasets and other genealogical resources.
Information obtained from external sources remains identifiable so that researchers can assess its origin and evidentiary value.
Responsible Use of Automation
Automation is used to assist researchers with repetitive tasks such as comparison, matching, place resolution and identifying potentially useful evidence.
It is not intended to replace researcher judgement.
Where automated analysis identifies a possible change, the Cockpit is designed to present the evidence and differences to the researcher so that the researcher can decide whether the information should be accepted, rejected or investigated further.
Any AI-assisted functionality involving FamilySearch data or contributions will be developed subject to FamilySearch requirements, disclosure requirements and approval.
Designed to Complement FamilySearch
AQ Enrichment Cockpit is not intended to reproduce FamilySearch Family Tree or compete with FamilySearch as an online collaborative family tree.
Instead, it provides a specialised desktop research, evidence reconciliation and data-quality environment that complements FamilySearch.
The goal is to help researchers turn evidence discovered outside FamilySearch into carefully reviewed, sourced improvements that can add value to FamilySearch Family Tree.
Development and Availability
AQ Enrichment Cockpit has an operational desktop application and database platform and is undergoing active product development by B and Me Creations. Current development is expanding its evidence reconciliation, geographic intelligence, external-source integration and researcher-controlled contribution capabilities.
Development includes genealogy data management, evidence comparison, historical place resolution, cemetery intelligence, source integration and researcher-controlled contribution workflows.
FamilySearch API integration is being developed subject to approval by FamilySearch and will be maintained in accordance with applicable FamilySearch API, compatibility and contribution requirements.
The product is intended for broader availability to family historians and will be supported through product documentation, tutorials and ongoing development.
